Reviews and Ratings
The hotel has had a great makeover and is now very appealing. The location is perfect for anyone visiting, but the noise from the party ran all night near our supposedly quiet room was a major disturbance.
The hotel provided a good value for money stay with small but basic rooms that could get warm at night, although a fan was provided. The service was friendly overall, though some staff members were unhelpful when addressing concerns. The location was convenient for city exploration and transport access, but noise was an issue for a guest. The dining experience was satisfactory with a continental breakfast, but improvements could be made. Facilities were decent, suitable for a short trip or university visit.
My stay at the Carlton was a mix of great experiences and a few letdowns. The rooms, while a bit dated, were surprisingly clean and comfortable with an amazing shower. The service was top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff making our first time in Newcastle unforgettable. The location was excellent, with easy access to transportation and nearby amenities. However, the dining options could be improved, and some facilities showed signs of wear and tear.
I had a lovely stay at the hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room was newly refurbished and spotless, with modern facilities like a fridge and biscuits. However, the boiler pipes in the ceiling made the room too hot, even melting Maltesers. The location was ideal for my needs, close to local restaurants. The dining options were good but basic, and more selection would be beneficial.
The hotel had a mix of positive and negative aspects. It was excellent in terms of spacious rooms with great beds and bathroom, but noise from squeaky floorboards was a nuisance. The service was outstanding, although the dining experience was lacking and overpriced.
